PEI 2014 - "Together in Song" Concert Tour
Our Spring Concert series featured an all Canadian line-up including specially-commissioned works from three Canadian composers David Buley (PEI), Tim Cooper (PEI), and Stephen Hatfield (BC). Traditional, local favourites such as "The Island Hymn" were presented alongside more diverse Canadian offerings such as "Nukapianguaq," a composition based on several Inuit chants and "Reel a Bouche," an Acadian rhythmic tune imitating lively Celtic folk instruments with the voice.

PEI 2014 - Together in Song: A Canadian Christmas
The Summerside Community Choir, accompanied by the UPEI Brass Ensemble and PEI's Singing Strings Orchestra, performed an all-Canadian Christmas Concert:
"Prepare to hear new takes on old favourites, and perhaps discover some new favourite Christmas tunes. From gentle carols to jazzy numbers to uplifting spiritual songs... and maybe even a little calypso?! The Summerside Community Choir accompanied by Tanya Bernard on piano and other local PEI musicians on brass and strings is one concert you definitely won't want to miss!"
We were also joined by special guests Sirens for both concerts. Sirens is a semi-professional, self-directed women's choral ensemble based in Charlottetown.
Sunday, December 7, 2014 - 7:00 p.m.: Park Royal United Church, Charlottetown.
Sunday, December 14, 2014 - 7:00 p.m.: Trinity United Church, Summerside.
